Jimmy’s Tennis

 

Here at Kings Rochester Sports Centre, Jimmy’s Tennis have an extensive range of group sessions for all ages and abilities. They run children’s group coaching from ages 3 to 16, so there is something for everyone. Jimmy’s Tennis also run plenty of adult coaching groups, social sessions, cardio tennis and pickleball. Programme Categories:

Tots Tennis – Age 3 – 5 years

Tots is for children aged 3-5 years old and enables them to learn the basics and how to enjoy the game through a series of fun activities, based on the fundamental areas of balance, co-ordination, agility, movement, racquet and ball skills. Played with sponge tennis balls.

Beginners Red Tennis – Age 5 – 8 years

Beginners red players learn to serve, rally and score with a slow ball, as well as learning the movement and co-ordination skills needed for tennis. Players are encouraged to play fun timed-tennis competitions as individuals.

Orange/Green Tennis – Age 8 – 10 years

Orange/Green players develop a rounded game, learning a range of techniques and tactics. There are individual timed-tennis competitions. They then can put their technique and skills into practise on a full size tennis court with a faster ball.

Junior Yellow Tennis – Age 11+ years

Junior players develop their technical and tactical skills on a full size tennis court. There are individual timed-tennis competitions, full tennis scoring is used.

Junior Performance – This session is for individuals that compete and commit to more than one session of tennis per week and suitability is assessed by our in house coach.

Adult – Age 16+ years

Adult courses are available for players with little, or no tennis experience to players with a sound tennis background. These sessions will focus on developing technique and understanding using point-based drills and match-play.
